FAQ
Common questions about STERiJECT needles.
The design of TSK STERiJECT needles, particularly the larger inner diameter and robust hub material, works in tandem to minimize patient discomfort. The smoother product flow enabled by the TSKiD™ barrels reduces the force required for injection, which can lead to less pain during the procedure. Additionally, the reliable connection and stability of the hard polymer hub ensure accurate delivery, further enhancing patient comfort during treatments.
The TSK STERiJECT Needle is manufactured under stringent quality control standards to ensure safety and sterility. Each needle is individually packaged and sterilized, meeting international safety regulations. Practitioners can have confidence that each needle is ready for use in a sterile environment, minimizing the risk of infection during injections.
Yes. The STERiJECT Ophthalmic Needle is FDA 510(k) cleared for ophthalmic injections. It is also held to far stricter contamination limits than regular hypodermic needles: an endotoxin limit of 0.2 EU per device compared to the 20.0 EU allowed for regular needles, and compliance with the USP <789> particulate standard, which regular needles are not tested against. These controls matter for intravitreal injections, where even trace contaminants can pose a risk to the eye, and they give practitioners confidence that every needle meets the safety and quality standards required for ophthalmic procedures.
STERiJECT families are engineered around different clinical and delivery requirements. STERiJECT combines specialized technologies such as low-dead-space hubs, thin-wall cannulas, and advanced hub designs.
It depends on the procedure, formulation and performance requirements. VLDS is the ophthalmic-cleared low-dead-space option; LDS focuses on minimizing residual volume across broader applications; HPC is engineered for flow and connection security under higher pressures; and PRE provides a versatile range of gauges and lengths.
